The heartwarming message of MJ Lastimosa for Rabiya Mateo, which she posted on Facebook and Instagram , has gone viral.

The message is a combination of the English, Tagalog, Ilonggo, and Visayan dialects.
“To my palangga, @rabiyamateo daw ka subo lang gid na subong, just acknowledge it, pagkahuman sina mapadayon kita, pit stop lang ni for you pero malawih pa imo nga makabutan sa imo nha pamatasan kag pagkakugihan,” MJ wrote in the post.
In English context, MJ is telling Rabiya, whom she calls “palangga” or beloved, that while it may be sad for now, she should just accept it.
After her period of grief, she should stand up and keep going. MJ also reminded Rabiya that this is just a temporary pause and that the future holds a lot of promise for her, especially with her good attitude (pamatasan) and diligence (pagkakugihan).
“The result may not be how we wanted it to be but it will never define you. We know your hard work and enthusiasm for this, and please know that all of those sleepless, restless, tearful, & tough days where you pushed through will never be left unappreciated,” MJ wrote further.
MJ also reminded Rabiya of what she said a few days ago, which is to “walk the stage with a grateful heart.”
She also told the Philippines’ bet that her experience at the Ms U 2020 would be long lasting, a memory that will forever be there, and it will be Rabiya’s story to tell.
MJ ended her message by telling Rabiya that they all love her and that she, whom Rabiya fondly calls “Nang MJ” or “Ate MJ,” will always be there only for her.

She was born on November 23, 1987 and grew up in the town of Tulunan in the province of North Cotabato. She finished her Computer Engineering degree with honors in the University of Mindanao in Davao City. She participated in various local pageants, winning Mutya ng University of Mindanao and Mutya ng Dabaw 2008 prior to her Binibining Pilipinas stints.
