Lolit Solis recently took to Instagram to share her thoughts regarding using foreign celebrities as endorsers for local brands.

The showbiz writer bemoaned the fact that more and more Filipino brands are turning to foreign celebrities to endorse their products.

In her post, Lolit named popular Korean stars Ji Chang Wook and Hyun Bin as well as K-pop giant, BTS. She also mentioned Thai model and actor Mario Maurer who has recently served a "cease and desist" letter to comedian, Kakai Bautista.

Lolit also expressed her disappointment that Filipino celebrities are being ignored in favor of these imported endorsers which implies that local celebrities are not effective endorsers.

The showbiz host also implored local brands to use Filipino celebrities instead of foreigners to endorse their products especially since the showbiz industry has been facing difficulties due to the pandemic.

"Meron ng BTS, meron pang nga Thai actors. Para bang second rate na lang mga celebrity natin. Paano iyan Salve, pag hindi na mahigpit ang travel, darating na dito sila Hyun Bin, Ji Chang Wook, BTS at baka pagdating ni Mario Maurer salubungin pa siya ni Cacai. Kalokah Salve dahil para bang hindi na effective mga local endorser natin, ka sad naman. Ok lang kasi nagkaruon ng international flavor, pero iyon bang psychological effect na para bang ano iyon, parang validation na tanggap mo na na mas malakas hatak ng mga Korean at ngayon meron pang Thai actors. Sad naman, especially now na parang dying ang showbiz dahil nga standstill dala ng takot sa virus. Hay naku, baka naman sensitive lang ako dahil na nga sa nakikita kong takbo ng local showbiz natin, peto sana naman, kahit pa mas sikat sila , mas kilala naman natin mga local stars. Baka nga kailangan natin ang tulong ng kasikatan nila para mapansin sa international market, pero sa tutoo lang, kayang kaya naman iyan ng mga stars natin."
