Online shops like Shopee or their forwarders would often inform customers through text the expected delivery date of their ordered items.

In the case of items ordered on a COD basis, a Shopee forwarder would inform customers that they have to prepare the exact amount of the item ordered.

"Biglaan po talaga na may lakad ako that time. Pero 'yun may delivery po ako sa Shopee, so iniwan ko na lang po 'yung bayad sa gate namin kasi wala din po ako mapag-iwanan," Prisco said.

If there is failure of delivery, the item ordered would be returned to the vendor and in most cases, Shopee would penalize the customer by disabling their COD option.

Prisco knew this so she opted to leave the money and a note at the gate, giving instructions on who should get the money.

“For Kuya Shopee! Kung hindi ka si Shopee, 'wag mo po kukunin. Nakikita ka ni Lord,” the note informed passers by.

There were other amusing stories regarding Shopee deliveries. Last year, a Shopee delivery address has gone viral due to the unique instructions that it has for the delivery guy. In the address, it stated, “mangkot ka lang kay kilala ko da.” It was the owner's son who posted the funny address, which has already been shared more than a thousand times. True enough, the address that he included was very effective, and so he received the package without any problem.

The online store also has its share of controversies. Several months ago, popular TV and radio personality, Raffy Tulfo, used a few minutes on his show to address an issue involving online stores Shopee and Lazada. He revealed that they sent a letter of request to the two companies regarding RTIA merchandise. The broadcast-journalist also claimed that both e-commerce companies do not have proper screening process. According to Raffy, he and his team will file legal charges if the issue will not be resolved.
