Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto did a Facebook Live to present the medical updates for the city of Pasig. In Sotto's Live, he explained that the COVID-19 vaccination protocol must be followed and everyone has to go through the official channels.

Sotto emphasized that there is no "palakasan" when it comes to getting the COVID-19 vaccination. The rules will apply to everyone and there will be no exemptions.

The mayor also revealed that his mother, famous actress, Coney Reyes, has not been vaccinated. As she is a senior citizen and has comorbidities, Reyes is eligible to be inoculated against COVID-19. However, as there is a process to be followed, his mother has to wait for her schedule for the vaccination just like everyone else.

Netizens commended the young mayor for being upright and having the integrity to make sure that everyone is being treated the same with no special treatments to those in power.

It can be remembered that actor Mark Anthony Fernandez was vaccinated ahead of time in Parañaque City which drew the ire of the Department of Interior and Local Government. Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivares was asked to explain the reason for the expedited COVID-19 inoculation of Fernandez.

Angel Locsin responded to a viral post from Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto. The mayor posted that he undertook a 14-day quarantine even if he tested negative for COVID-19. As for Locsin, she reacted to Sotto’s post by expressing her gladness that he is healthy.
