A concerned netizen took to Instagram and posted a lengthy message against all the bashers of Ellen and Derek, especially that of the former.

The netizen expressed sadness that so many people are bashing Ellen, considering that they do not know her and what they see on social media are merely glimpses of a celeb's life.
She then defended the fast engagement, saying that some couples simply take long but others, they just know.
"It's so sad seeing negative comments about Derek and Ellen's engagement. What's worse is that majority of it are coming from women."
Ellen then reposted her post and replied, and assured her that it is okay. The actress also said that she has everything that she needs in life and that bashing does not affect her.
"It's okay dai. I have everything I need in life... Bashing does not affect me."
