Nikki Bigornia, daughter of popular news reporter and anchor Doris Bigornia, is asking for financial help to cover the skyrocketing costs of hospital care.

To make it easy for those who wanted to contribute, Nikki established a fundraiser she called #FundingDoris. She said they need around P1.5M for her hospitalization and second operation.

She said donation proceeds would help fund the costs Doris needs for another operation.

The news anchor suffered a heart attack in February and had to undergo a heart bypass surgery to save her life.

The huge costs incurred in the operation, plus related hospital expenses prompted Nikki to establish the fundraiser.

It has been a month since the news reporter was admitted to the hospital and until now, she continues to be under tight monitoring at the facility’s Intensive Care Unit.

“We are knocking on everyone’s kind and generous hearts to help us in raising funds for mommy’s hospitalization. As a single mom, juggling her career and family, we are thankful that mommy has been able to provide for the family on her own,” Nikki said in her fundraising campaign.

While the first surgery was successful, she would still need another operation for the installation of a pacemaker.

Nikki said they never thought they would be in a tight and seemingly helpless situation, humbly asking for financial help. “Maraming nagmamahal sa’yo, ma. Kailangan pa namin ang nagiisang Mutya ng Masa,” the daughter of Doris Bigornia said.
