JC Intal announces retirement from basketball: "After 2 decades of playing"

- JC Intal has formally announced that he is retiring from basketball, a sport, which he described he really loves

- In a lengthy Instagram post, JC expressed his gratitude to his family, colleagues, coaches, and friends who have helped him

- He said that saying goodbye to basketball is a bittersweet feeling, since it is a game that has been a huge part of his life

- On a final note, he said that it has been an honor of his life to play basketball

JC Intal, the husband of Bianca Gonzalez, formally announced his retirement from basketball in an Instagram post.

He said that he has been playing the sport for two decades, 13 years of which, he has been in the PBA.

"After 2 decades of playing the sport I love, 13 years of which in the PBA, I am officially announcing my retirement from basketball," said the 37-year-old basketball star.

He also stated words could not express how truly grateful he is, and thanked all the persons who helped and made his journey possible.

JC thanked his schools, his coaches, and of course, his loving wife Bianca and their two daughters.

Known as "The Rocket," JC thanked his mentors. He started out in Letran, then played for the Ateneo Blue Eagles, and in 2007, he wa picked in the 2007 PBA Rookie Draft by Air21 Express.

The last part of his post stated that it was the honor of his life to play basketball.

"It is a bittersweet feeling for me to say goodbye to the game that has been a huge part of my life, but I am moving forward feeling happy and proud knowing I made the most of the privilege to play basketball professionally.

It has been the honor of my life to play basketball. From the bottom of my heart, again, THANK YOU. #RocketOut "

JC's wife, Bianca Gonzalez, recently penned her thoughts on the notion that basketball players are womanizers. This was after she was asked about it during a Q&A session with her supporters via Instagram Stories. She then revealed she also had pre-conceived notions about basketball players before she dated JC Intal. Bianca, later on, learned that a man’s faithfulness can’t be judged just by his profession.
