The Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger revealed that she was overwhelmed that Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid were impressed by her version of the OPM song “Pangako”.
According to the report of ABS-CBN News, Nicole opened up being a big fan of the Asia’s Songbird.
"When I listen to her music and her voice, I'm like, 'What else is there for me to do?'
“So that really means a lot coming from her because I have so much love and respect for her," the American singer shared.
Nicole recorded Regine’s original song for Troy Laureta, an American-Filipino producer.
Having Filipino blood in her too, Nicole revealed that she would like to visit the Philippines in order to sing “Pangako” with Troy.
"I can't wait. I miss it. I'm so blessed. What I love more than anything is being on that stage and singing as Filipinos love to do. It's like where we feel at home.
The singer said that once the pandemic is over, plans to visit the country and continues her philanthropic works for the street children in the Philippines.
Nicole’s version of “Pangako” is part of Troy’s new compilation album entitled “Kaibigan”.
Nicole Scherzinger is the vocalist of the American all-female group The Pussycat Dolls. She is also a songwriter and a TV personality. She was born in Hawaii but was raised in Kentucky. Nicole has Filipino ancestry through her biological father.
Nicole is not the only international star who has sung an OPM song recently. Last December, Sandara Park and Jay of iKon sang Iñigo Pascual’s popular song “Dahil Sa’yo” as a Christmas gift for their Filipino fans.
Sandara, or Dara, may be back home in South Korea, but she has never forgotten her life in the Philippines. In fact, it was previously reported that South Korean actor Jung Il-woo cooked beef caldereta and sinigang for Sandara, which are her favorite Pinoy dishes.
