Pokwang took to social media to post a photo taken outside the Antipolo Cathedral with a rainbow in the sky.

According to Pokwang, she experienced selling suman, kasoy, sweepstakes and Sampaguita outside the cathedral to make a living.
She also used to regularly pray in the church to express the pain and suffering she felt due to poverty.
Fortunately, Pokwang found enormous success as a comedienne and an actress. She urged people to remain firm in their faith in God to make it through in life.

“1980 from pasig lumipat kami sa Antipolo, dito namin naranasan ang buhay na kahit mahirap nakakaraos dahil sa pagsisikap.
“Ang simbahan ng Antipolo ang araw araw na saksi sa aking pagiging makulit ngunit puno ng pangarap na batang paslit, minsan umiiyak ako sa mahal na birhen at nagtatanong ng mga katanungan na bilang isang bata ay bakit ang aga kong danasin ang hirap?
“ngunit dito ko rin nakuha sa bayan ng antipolo ang kasagutan ng mahal na birhen. sabi nya, anak hindi kita pinahihirapan, pinapatapang lang kita at pinapatatag sa mga darating na agos ng buhay. dito sa lugar na ito ako naging ina, at nawalan ng anak at ng matiising nanay.
“madalas ako nasa harap ng simbahan na ito para mangulit na bilhan ako ng ticket ng sweepstakes, suman at kasoy, sampaguita etc. masaya, malungkot pero makulay ang buhay kasing kulay ng bahag haring ito. isang paalala na wag mawalan ng pag asa basta naniniwala ka sa kanya,” Pokwang posted on Instagram.
