Justin Timberlake recently apologized to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson for past misogynist and racist behavior that affected both female stars' careers.
He publicized his apology via his Instagram page following backlash initially stemming from the release of the New York Times documentary "Framing Britney Spears." It highlighted the fallout from Britney's breakup with Justin.
According to NBC News, Justin and Britney dated from 1999 to 2002. After their breakup, Justin launched his solo career on an album that cast Britney as a cheater and Justin as a doting romantic. After which, Britney became a figure of fun, while the male singer’s career continued to soar.
Netizens then tweeted about #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay in recognition of the 2004 "wardrobe malfunction" in which Janet's breast was mistakenly exposed by Justin, according to Reuters.
Her music was then pulled from all Viacom channels and radio stations. She was also banned from the Grammy Awards the following week, where she was set to perform, while Justin’s act was not removed.
On February 13, Justin then took to Instagram to share his public apology:
Previously, KAMI listed down the 20 highest-paid musicians in the world. Among the musicians included in the said list is Justin Timberlake. Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Ed Sheeran, meanwhile, are on the top of the list.
Justin’s Man of the Woods tour is the most memorable of all his tours. The tour grossed over $225 million, a little over a year when he started. The star has made his fortune from doing shows, making music and featuring in movies.
