Barbie Almabis recently shared a faith-inspiring testimony of how her husband, Martin Honasan, fought against COVID-19.
On January 23, the OPM singer took to Instagram their family’s latest health challenge after her husband, Martin, was hospitalized because of COVID-19 complications.
The singer uploaded a photo of herself in a PPE, or personal protective equipment suit, while in a hospital room.
According to Barbie, they are not sure how Martin got infected with the virus. She also wrote their testimony of how they found strength through it all.
“This was one of the hardest months we’ve ever had, a faith-stretching season that brought us to our knees many times, but God has remained faithful to sustain us and give us peace through it all.”
She also narrated the passage that Martin was reading when he tested positive.
“On the day Martin tested positive, he was reading 2 Chronicles 20 in the Bible.
“’If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.
“’Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
“”Do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’ These became the verses we held on to as we prayed especially on the most challenging days.”

She even revealed an instance when someone reminded Martin to remain in faith while he was struggling.
“One night, it was difficult and sometimes painful for him to breathe, and he felt fuzzy and confused from a 9-day fever and dehydration. He was feeling scared and we mentioned it to our nurse.
“She gently tapped him on the shoulder and said, ‘Don’t worry, Sir Martin. God is with you.’
“She didn’t know it, but that moment gave Martin a surge of hope and peace, assured that God had been with us every moment, as He promised.
“He began to recover soon after, and we were able to go home after a few days.”
Barbie also thanked those who prayed and supported them along the way until Martin’s recovery. She also revealed that the rest of their family tested negative for the virus.
