Toni Gonzaga asks to forgive evicted PBB housemate who voted ‘yes’ to ABS-CBN shutdown

- He then clarified and explained why he expressed his support for the closure of the said media giant

Toni Gonzaga recently took to social media to ask netizens to understand and forgive now-evicted PBB housemate, Russu Laurente, dubbed as the "Bunsong Boksingero of General Santos City''.
Russu admitted on the show that he earlier tweeted "#YESTOABSCBNSHUTDOWN" and clarified that his stand was influenced by netizens who support President Rodrigo Duterte. He also explained that it was normal for him to express his support to the President since he is from Mindanao.
Toni then courageously defended Russu from the criticisms he received.

People are very quick to judge him, call him names and crucify him on social media because of it without realizing that at 19 years old, he doesn’t know the gravity of words spoken. He has learned his lesson and this will help him grow and mature in life. And now that he knows better, He will do better. May this also serve as a reminder for us to not define and label a person by the mistakes they’ve committed but from how they rise up, rebuild and become a better person they are really supposed to be.
She likewise said, "I hugged the boy after the show and he kept apologizing. Forgiveness is a gift everyone deserves.”

“Pinoy Big Brother” is a popular reality show in the Philippines. It has produced well-acclaimed artists such as Joshua Garcia, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and James Reid.
In a previous report by KAMI, Justin Dizon, known as the Courageous Cabalen of Pampanga, was evicted from the famous PBB House and left the popular structure on Dec. 27. Justin went viral after he made a "uy, marumi ka nga pala" comment on another housemate. He got the lowest number of votes as compared to the other two nominees for eviction - Aizyl Tandugon and Mika Pajares.
Earlier, Ogie Diaz posted on Facebook to call out a supposed new auditionee on the Kapamilya program, "Pinoy Big Brother". The said auditionee went viral because he allegedly supported the shutdown of ABS-CBN months ago.
