Alex Calleja, a comedian in the Philippines, recently admitted to the public that he already regrets voting for President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016.
KAMI learned that the celebrity was among those who campaigned and supported the 75-year-old politician when he sought the highest position in the government during the 2016 national elections.
Through a lengthy Twitter post, the said personality revealed that he is disappointed with how the chief executive is running the country.
The frank and serious comment of Alex was posted after the Congress officially denied the franchise renewal bid of the Kapamilya network.
Here’s the statement of the said comedian:
“Kinampanya at binoto ko po si President Duterte ng nakaraang 2016 Election. Marami akong nakaaway dahil sa kanya. Bilib ako sa kanya dahil siya ang tinuturing kong huling alas para isalba ang bansa natin. At sa kasawiang palad, bilang supporter niya, disappointed ako sa nangyayari ngayon…
“Pero may dalawang taon pa para makabawi siya. Pero sa ngayon, hayaan niyo akong magpahayag ng damdamin ko na marami sa mga naipangako niya ay hindi pa natutupad…
“Sana makakuha ako ng mga comments na matino at bukas sa malayang diskurso.”
Alex Calleja is a Filipino showbiz personality who has been very vocal about his support for ABS-CBN. He continues to cry foul over the issues being thrown against the network.
