Quezon City Most Unsafe To Live In?
HIGHLIGHT: Crimes perpetrated in Quezon City reached 65 thousand in a five-year period, according to PNP.
Quezon City, the most populous city with 2.76 million residents, posted the highest number of crimes from 2010 to 2015 in the list released today by Philippine National Police (PNP).
Among the 15 cities in the country, the "City of Stars" has the most number of index crimes which include crimes against persons and crimes against property.
In the list obtained by Rappler, the city, named after second Philippine president Manuel Quezon, had 961 murder, 966 homicide, 18, 470 robbery, 27, 838 theft, 3,244 car napping and 14, 035 physical injury cases. The total of these crimes reached 65 thousand.

In 2014, Q.C. Mayor Herbert Bautista acknowledged that there is a need to halt the crimes in the city and ordered the League of Barangays and Barangay Operations Center to supervise the formation of watch groups within neighbourhoods.
He also asked the Peace and Order Council to implement the installation of closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) to help in solving crimes.
Quezon City houses major commercial industries and companies such TV networks ABS CBN and GMA, PLDT, BayanTel, Smart Araneta Coliseum, TriNoma etc. It is also the headquarters of many government offices such as Social Security System, Land Transportation Office, and where top schools University of the Philippines Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, are located.
