Explainer: 5 first-aid tips for heatstroke amid hot weather in PH
Recently, the temperature in the Philippines continues to go high as the country battles against the COVID-19 crisis.

KAMI learned that there are first-aid tips for heatstroke now that it could happen to anyone given the hot weather in the country.
According to GMA News, the Health Secretary Francisco Duque said that a heat stroke can be prevented as long as a person avoid long exposure to the sun from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Here are the 5 first-aid tips for heatstroke:
- Use an electric fan to lower the temperature of the patient
- Lie down the patient
- Apply a cold compress to the neck and stomach area of the patient
- Elevate the feet of the patient
- Make sure to let the patient drink water

As reported by the Philippine Star, state weather bureau PAGASA recorded the highest heat index in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro with a temperature of 56 °C at 2 in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the city of Dagupan had a heat index of 50 °C and the Science City of Muñoz recorded a heat index of 49 °C.
