Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has been summoned by the NBI anti-graft division for supposedly violating the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act, which mandates local government units (LGUs) to comply with national guidelines.

His celebrity friend, Gretchen Ho, took to social media after the news hit the net.

The news reporter tweeted: “wrong move” and “It’s really #AprilFoolsDay.”

She also retweeted posts that defend Sotto from the accusations against him.

According to NBI spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin, the supposed violation is related to the mayor’s request to allow tricycles in his city to operate so that frontliners, health workers, patients, and employees can have access to public transportation.

In the first week of the community quarantine, Sotto allowed tricycles to transport health workers so that they could get to their places of work.

When his requests got denied, the mayor promised to comply with the directives from the Palace.

Sotto will be allowed to explain his decisions when he meets with the NBI.
