Lea Salonga laments plight of daily wage earners amid community quarantine

- She posted a lengthy message of Facebook amid the quarantine, where she admitted that her cousin was infected by the virus but was able to recover in L.A.

- Along with this, she lamented the welfare of daily wage earners and those who got to stay home but are not earning anything due to the quarantine

- The singer also praised those who are lifting a finger to make the present situation bearable

Lea Salonga took to Facebook to express her thoughts on the ongoing quarantine. She admitted how her cousin in L.A. was infected by the virus, suffered from pneumonia and had to be intubated, but was able to recover.

Following this, she then lamented on the plight of a segment of the population who are bound to stay at home. She asked how will the recommendation sound to a daily wage earner.

She also asked how it will be for those who stayed home with their families but are no longer able to provide for them because of a lack of income.

The singer/actress even asked how social distancing can be recommended to those whose homes are inches away from each other.

"I honestly don’t know. It’s easy for many of us to flippantly recommend staying at home, but how do we recommend that to a daily wage earner? To someone that can’t see their families because of the lockdown? To people that are with their families, but are now unable to provide for them?"

At the end of her post, Lea said that she's trying to keep herself smiling and positive. She then urged everyone to do what must be done to beat the virus.

This is one example of those who depend on daily wages prior to the quarantine.
