Mommy Divine thinks Sarah Geronimo needs her guidance when it comes to her love life

Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo and her mother, Divine Geronimo has previously made headlines in the past due to the latter's upbringing and involvement towards the life of the singer.
It can be recalled that Sarah and her long-term partner, Matteo Guidicelli, have recently tied the knot in a private and secret civil wedding ceremony which eventually buzzed the online community after reports of Mommy Divine trying to prevent the wedding have been made.
Following this news, KAMI learned that previous interviews of Mommy Divine regarding Sarah's old relationships and her career have started to resurface on social media.
In February 2011, during an interview with YES!, Mommy Divine admitted that she knows she was being criticized for being "overprotective" of Sarah.
The Popstar Royalty's mother also revealed that she believes Sarah wasn't ready to entertain suitors since her daughter did not have the right "relationship experience."
Mommy Divine even mentioned that she believes Sarah "needed her guidance" because of this, “Sa nakikita ko sa kanya, hindi siya talaga puwedeng pabayaang mag-isa. Yun ang nakikita ko kung bakit palagi ko siyang ginagabayan sa ngayon."
Furthermore, Mommy Divine said that the "right guy" for Sarah should be someone who was willing to wait, "Ang lalaki, kung okay siya, willing siyang maghintay. Hindi niya sisirain ang buhay ng anak ko, hindi niya sisirain ang pangarap ng anak ko."
When Matteo and Sarah started to publicly date one another, Mommy Divine was once again criticized back in 2014 after being accused of meddling with the couple's relationship.
The singer's mother then released a statement to defend herself against the accusations, “Lagi lang naming sinasabi na sana yung lalaking pipiliin niya ay 'yung masasandalan niya habang-buhay. Hindi yung puro emosyon na lang. Pakonswelo na lang ang pisikal, ang appearance."

As reported earlier by KAMI, Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli have recently exchanged wedding vows earlier this week on February 20. The couple held a private civil wedding ceremony which was reported to have been kept a secret from Sarah's parents. Following this news, Sarah's interview at Magandang Buhay months before the wedding has recently gone viral. In the video, the actress could be seen in tears as she gave a message to her family.
