Cebu Pacific, a popular airline company in the Philippines, has recently acquired the services of a transwoman to work as one of its flight attendants.
KAMI learned that Jess Labares, a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, is now officially the first transwoman flight attendant in the country.
The beauty queen shared the good news, as well as her journey to becoming one of the airline’s employees, through a lengthy social media post.
She stated that her training for almost two months was not easy and that being a flight attendant is difficult since they have to ensure the comfort and safety of other people.
However, she decided to embrace the opportunity to prove that even the members of the LGBTQ+ community can also excel in jobs that are originally for pure women.

In her much-talked-about post, Jess mentioned that she wants other people to be inspired by what she has achieved through determination and perseverance.
“Blood + sweat + tears + a healthy dose of laughter is, without a doubt, the most perfect formula to achieve one’s goals in life…
“Sometimes we really have to take that brave step beyond our comfort zone to become a little more aware of who we are and to be well-acquainted with the limits of what we can do…
“I will forever cherish this opportunity given to me… I hope my role will inspire, not just the LGBTQ community, but everyone else with big dreams and are determined to never give up on something they want to achieve in life,” she wrote.
