Robin Kaye, a veteran music supervisor for American Idol, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were found slain in their home on Monday, July 14, in the afternoon.

According to a report by The New York Times, the couple, both 70 years old, were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds inside their Los Angeles residence.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that 22-year-old Encino resident Raymond Boodarian has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal incident. Investigators believe the couple may have encountered the suspect inside their home, leading to a confrontation that ended in their deaths.
PEOPLE also noted that Kaye and Deluca were found in separate rooms of the home. Deluca was discovered in the bathroom, and Kaye was found in the pantry. Responding personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced both victims dead at the scene.

“We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing. Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her,” a representative for “American Idol” told CNN in a statement Tuesday, July 15.
“Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time,” the statement continued.
