A mayor in Oaxaca, Mexico, named Daniel Guitierrez, recently married a small crocodile.

According to a report by GMA 7's 'Balitanghali,' this unique ceremony has been part of the region's tradition for 200 years.

The tradition is believed to symbolize the deep bond between humans and animals.

During the wedding ritual, the mayor, as the groom, was regarded as the king of the ethnic group, while the crocodile, as the bride, was seen as the princess.

The union of the human groom and the crocodile was believed to give them a bountiful harvest in the field and more fish in the ocean.

In certain parts of Mexico, especially in San Pedro Huamelula in the state of Oaxaca, there is a centuries-old tradition where a mayor symbolically marries a crocodile.

This ritual is part of an indigenous ceremony that dates back over 200 years. The crocodile, often referred to as a "princess," represents a deity associated with nature, fertility, and abundance.

The mayor, acting as the "king," symbolizes the human community.

The marriage is meant to bring good fortune, harmony, and a bountiful harvest, and it honors the connection between humans and the natural world.

The crocodile is usually dressed in a white gown and handled with care and respect during the ceremony.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
