"I never even heard him playing by/with the mirror until I heard it fall and then within five seconds, I lifted it off of him," Dewey wrote.
"It seemed impossible for it to just randomly fall down for no reason considering its placement and weight. But when I picked it up and leaned it back on the wall, I noticed his bowl was stuck to it ... I figured out EXACTLY how it happened," she continued.

Although she managed to remove the mirror off of her son, she immediately knew something wasn't right.
"Based on how he was acting, I immediately knew something was VERY wrong and that it was serious but never did we expect it to be so serious that he wouldn't survive it. The mirror hit his head in the most precise way and fractured his skull."
Little Reed suffered severe traumatic brain injury and died after falling into coma.
Lindsay Dewey is a social media personality and parenting influencer who shares her family life with over 54,000 followers on Instagram. In February 2025, she experienced the tragic loss of her 22-month-old son, Reed, after an unsecured mirror fell on him at their Idaho home. Following this incident, Lindsay has been actively raising awareness about household safety to prevent similar accidents in other families.
