Beauty queen Michelle Dee made the Filipino people proud after finishing in the top 10 of the Miss Universe 2023 pageant held in El Salvador yesterday.

However, many people — both Filipinos and foreigners — believe that she deserved the Miss Universe crown.

One of those people is Ronan Farrow, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist in the US, who took to Twitter to express his heartbreak over Michelle’s defeat.

According to Ronan, he was shaken and in tears since he believes that Michelle was robbed of the crown.

”Miss Philippines was robbed, shaking and crying,” he tweeted.

In a later tweet, he also used the hashtag #michelledee to express his admiration for the Filipina beauty queen.

However, he clarified that even though he wanted Michelle to win, he was still happy for the country of Nicaragua, represented by Sheynnis Palacio, for winning their first Miss Universe title. Many people also believe that Sheynnis deserved the win.

Michelle Marquez Dee is a beauty queen who rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She represents the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador. Michelle’s mother is actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez.

In a previous report, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, in one of her latest online posts meanwhile, shared how proud she was of Michelle. Earlier, Michelle represented the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe competition. On her Instagram page, Catriona reposted Michelle's post about her stunning black gown. She then expressed her sentiments about Michelle's performance at the competition.

Earlier, Michelle took to her IG broadcast channel to give a message to her supporters. The beauty queen emphasized "love and kindness over everything." She also reiterated how much she loves her supporters. Michelle then thanked everyone for raising the PH flag with her.
