A Belarusian woman who dreamed of becoming a model reportedly met a tragic end after being lured by a fake job offer that led to her trafficking and eventual death in Myanmar.

The victim, identified as 26-year-old Vera Kravtsova, had travelled to Bangkok hoping to start a promising modelling career.
However, her aspirations took a horrific turn when she was allegedly abducted and taken across the border into Myanmar.
According to Russian media outlet Mash, “She flew to Bangkok for a job interview, but instead of working on the runway, she was taken to Myanmar and turned into a slave. Her duties included being beautiful, serving her ‘masters’, and scamming rich people.”

Reports revealed that she was held captive in one of Myanmar’s notorious “scam centres,” operated by criminal groups that lure foreigners under false pretenses.
Victims in these facilities are often forced into online scams, with some subjected to torture, organ harvesting, or sexual exploitation if they fail to meet quotas.
When Kravtsova stopped generating money, she reportedly disappeared. Her family later received devastating news that she had died.
They were contacted by unknown individuals demanding $500,000 for her remains.
When the family refused, they received another chilling message: “We cremated her.”
Russian outlet SHOT later reported, “Vera went silent in early October. A little later, unknown individuals contacted her family, informing them that she had been sold for her organs and her body had been cremated.”
