Irish actor and writer Michael Patrick has died at the age of 35, his family confirmed. The performer, who appeared in a Season 6 episode of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, passed away while in hospice care in Northern Ireland.

His wife, Naomi Sheehan, announced his death through a heartfelt post on Instagram on Wednesday, April 8. Alongside a wedding photo of them, Naomi shared details about his final days and the illness he had been battling.
She revealed that Michael had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease on February 1, 2023, a progressive condition that affects the brain and nerves. According to Naomi, he had been admitted to the Northern Ireland Hospice 10 days prior to his passing, where he received care from medical staff.
“Last night, Mick sadly passed away in the Northern Ireland Hospice.

He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease 1st February 2023.
He was admitted 10 days ago and was cared for by the incredible team there. He passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends.”
In her message, Naomi expressed the profound grief felt by their family, describing the immense loss left by his passing.
“Words can’t describe how broken-hearted we are.”
She went on to reflect on Michael’s life, highlighting the impact he had on those around him, both before and during his illness. Naomi described him as a source of inspiration, noting his resilience, warmth, and enduring spirit.
“It’s been said more than once that Mick was an inspiration to everyone who was privileged enough to come into contact with him, not just in the past few years during his illness but in every day of his life.
