Celebrities reacted to reports on poaching activities of China in West Philippine Sea. The report stated Chinese fishermen haul 240,000 kilos of fish daily.

President Rodrigo Duterte has raised the arbitral ruling over the South China Sea during the meeting in China. However, China refused to acknowledge the arbitral win of the Philippines.

President Rodrigo Duterte confirmed his trip to China this month. He mentioned that he will be discussing the arbitral ruling over the West Philippine Sea. Duterte emphasized that he does not want any dispute against China.

The military said that the Chinese vessels have left the waters of Pag-asa Island. It has been four days since the Chinese ships left the area. The Western Command is working with Joint Task Force West to verify the matter.

National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. said that the Pag-asa Island is swarmed by over 100 Chinese fishing vessels. Therefore, he recommended filing a diplomatic protest against Beijing.

Defense Secretary Defense Lorenzana called China as a “bully." Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua said that China wants peace over the West Philippine Sea. However, Lorenzana said that Zhao's words do not match China’s actions.
