Argentine boxer Hugo Alfredo “Dinamita” Santillan has passed away on Thursday after sustaining injuries from his match against Eduardo Javier Abreu in Buenos Aires.

KAMI learned that Santillan’s nose started bleeding during the fourth round.

In a report by The Guardian, Santillan was able to finish the fight which ended in a draw. During the announcement of the official results, he started to faint and eventually collapsed in the ring. He was immediately taken to the hospital.

Santillan reportedly went through an emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain due to head trauma. The 23-year-old boxer died due to a heart attack.

Santillan was fighting against Abreu for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino Silver lightweight title. He had the record of 19 wins, 6 defeats, 2 stoppage, and 2 draws.

In a previous report by KAMI, Russian boxer Maxim Dadashev passed away just a few days after his fight against Subriel Matias.

The match was stopped during the 11th round and Dadashev was rushed to the hospital to go through brain surgery.
