Several celebrities in the Philippines immediately took to social media their reactions after knowing that Manny Pacquiao defeated Adrien Broner in their WBA Welterweight match.
KAMI learned that the Filipino pride won in 12 grueling rounds and defended his belt versus the American challenger.
One of the prominent personalities who voiced out his opinion was Gary Valenciano who claimed that the Pinoy boxer championed the hearts of many people.
He even wished for the recent triumph to serve as an inspiration to others who are in misfortune and who need encouragement.
"This man has managed not just to win boxing matches...but hearts of people from all around the globe. At his age, he is proving that nothing is impossible with the God he is so committed to," the singer wrote.
"Congratulation Sen. Manny Pacquiao. May this victory inspire the countless ones that so desperately need to be inspired and encouraged. Mabuhay po kayo and to Jesus be all glory forever and ever," he added.
Marjorie Barretto meanwhile expressed that had a conversation with Manny when he and his family were heading to Los Angeles.
She said that the Senator is one of the most humble people she met and that she wished and prayed for nothing but his victory.
"My children and I were on the same flight to LA with Senator Pacquiao’s Family... We talked about my children, his family, his Mom, his wife until he shared some bible verses with me," she said.
"He was the most humble important person I have talked to. I have always admired him as a fighter, but after getting to know him I have only the best things to say about him. We’re praying for his victory today. May God be with you," she added.
