Sen. Risa Hontiveros released a statement after the arrival of Guo Hua Ping, also known as Alice Guo, in the Philippines from Indonesia early Friday morning.

Hontiveros shared her frank reaction to the viral smiling photos of Guo following her arrest.
“We want answers, NOT a photoshoot. Alice Guo, the FAKE Filipino, has a lot of explaining to do,” she posted.

In the comments section, Hontiveros wrote, “Matapos nyang makipag-taguan sa batas, ginawa namang fan-meet nitong si Alice Guo ang pagkakaaresto nya. Kulang na lang, red carpet.”
Hontiveros also penned a fiery note on the upcoming Senate hearing with Guo.
“Tingnan natin kung gaano sya ka-photogenic sa hearing sa Lunes. Unli-pictures sya doon.”
The senator also had a gentle reminder for her fellow government officials.
“Isang paalala rin sa ating mga kasamahan sa gobyerno, hindi dapat ginagawang social event ang pag-aresto sa isang puganteng sangkot sa patong-patong na kaso ng human trafficking, money laundering, fake identity, gross misconduct, illegal recruitment and detention, at corruption.”
She went on, “Pinaglaruan ni Alice Guo ang mga batas ng Pilipinas at ginamit nya ang posisyon nya para makapag-operate ang mga POGO na naging sangkot sa kidnapping, murder, human trafficking, at prostitution.”
“Alice Guo, the fake Filipino, will have a lot of explaining to do on Monday.”
“Pagbabayaran niya ang pagsisinungaling niya, ang pagtago, pagtakas, at ang panloloko sa sambayanang Pilipino,” Hontiveros added.
Alice Leal Guo is the Mayor of the Municipality of Bamban, Tarlac. She won as mayor during the national elections in 2022. She became known nationwide after her name was dragged into the ongoing Senate investigations regarding Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations or (POGO) and the alleged proliferation of illegal immigrants. Her name has been the subject of many online memes since then.
Guo Hua Ping, also known as Alice Guo, was arrested in Indonesia. Sen. Win Gatchalian, in a social media post, announced that the dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor was arrested in Tangerang City, Jakarta. In a message sent to GMA News, Gatchalian said Guo was nabbed at 1:30 AM on September 4, 2024 and she is currently in the custody of the Indonesian Police. The news was also confirmed by NBI Director Jaime Santiago, according to ABS-CBN News.
Alice Guo’s sister, Shiela Guo, is now at the Senate detention facility. She arrived at the facility on August 26 after the National Bureau of Investigation transferred custody to the Senate Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, as per the Philippine star. According to PTV, Shiela also underwent inventory and medical test. It can be recalled that Shiela and Cassandra Li Ong were nabbed in Indonesia and brought back to the Philippines last August 22.
