- Rep. Lito Atienza, in an exclusive interview with One News, revealed that Sen. Manny Pacquiao did not intend to go to the press conference

- In an advisory sent to the reporters, Pacquiao was supposed to join the presscon but the senator did not arrive

- Atienza also stated that he's very proud of his presidential candidate as he was not part of the "funny-looking event"

- He also underscored that it isn't right to say "just withdraw"

Rep. Lito Atienza, in an exclusive interview with OneNews revealed that his running-mate, Sen. manny Pacquiao, "never intended to attend" the press conference that was held at the Manila Peninsula by Mayor Isko Moreno, Sen. Ping Lacson, Norberto Gonzales, Sen. Tito Sotto and Doc Willie Ong.

Pacquiao was supposed to be part of the presscon, as per the advisory sent to reporters. However, Pacquiao never came to the conference.

Atienza added that "may the better man win." He emphasized though that it's not right to just say, "withdraw."

"May the better man win and let everybody strive pero hindi naman yata tama 'yung magbitiw ka na lang. That is really downgrading and huwag nilang isama si Manny. I'm very proud of my presidential candidate. He's not part of the funny-looking event," he said.

Manny Pacquiao is an eight-division world boxing champion, considered one of the greatest boxers in history. He also found success as a politician, first becoming a congressman before getting elected as a senator.

Sen. Manny Pacquiao held his biggest rally yet in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on Saturday. According to Negros Oriental Rep. Arnie Teves, who organized the event, 80,000 people attended the rally. On his Facebook page, the boxer-tuned-politician posted aerial shots from the said rally. Pacquiao also expressed gratitude to Negrosanons who attended the event.

Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao, the mother of Senator and presidential candidate, Manny Pacquiao, recently said that she would serve as adviser to her son in case he wins the presidency. During a press conference, the senator’s mom was asked what would her role be in case Sen. Manny becomes the new resident of Malacañan Palace. She confidently answered the question by saying that as a mother, she would serve as an adviser. Mommy D then pointed out that it would just be like in the subdivision in General Santos where they live where she also serves as such.
