Through the efforts of Sen. Bong Go, the two former allies met in Malacañang to have a “renewal of friendship.”

According to an article by the Manila Times, the friendship of the two goes a long way back.

Sen. Manny made public what he alleged to be evidence of wrongdoings done by Pres. Duterte’s men and allies.

Pres. Duterte, for his part, threatened to expose Sen. Manny as a liar, and began lambasting him almost on a daily basis.

This must have been too much for Sen. Bong Go, who was caught between two close friends.

To end the squabble, Sen. Go requested that the two officials meet for a talk and “renewal of friendship.”

“Walang politika. Important nagkausap sila ni PRRD. Kami naman ni Manny, kaibigan naman kami ni kumpare,” Sen. Go said.

In a report by Rappler, the meeting took place in Malacañang on the night of November 9, Tuesday.

Sen. Manny’s camp said that the two discussed some matters that relate to the interest of the nation in general and development in Mindanao.

As to whether the president talked to him regarding his presidential run, Sen. Manny only said that he would not back out from the presidential race.

In a report by Inquirer, Sen. Manny said “walang atrasan” and that he would continue his fight.

Manny Pacquiao is an eight-division world boxing champion, considered one of the greatest boxers in history. He also found success as a politician, first becoming a congressman before getting elected as a senator. Manny is married to Jinkee Pacquiao, whom he called his best friend.

Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee celebrated with Annabelle Rama during her 69th birthday celebration. The celebrant’s husband Eddie Gutierrez, daughter Ruffa Gutierrez, and daughter-in-law Sarah Lahbati were present at the event. Tonton Gutierrez, Janine Gutierrez, Ramon Christopher, Herbert Bautista, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and Bianca Manalo were the other public figures who went to the party. Sen. Manny Pacquiao revealed during a forum that in the event he becomes the President, his wife will not be following the footsteps of Imelda Marcos. The senator assured people that such will not happen because his wife is not like that. He also stated that Jinkee is "mahiyain" and that she is not interested in politics. The senator then said that what Jinkee wants is to help women, to provide for scholarships.
