A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a 29-year-old motorcycle rider and his three-year-old daughter after their vehicle collided with a tricycle in Basista, Pangasinan. Authorities said both victims were rushed to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

According to a report from GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon, the incident occurred Tuesday in Barangay Dumpay.
Initial findings from the police investigation indicated that the motorcycle veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with an oncoming tricycle.
Investigators also noted that the father was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The impact left the rider and his young daughter critically injured. They were immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but medical personnel were unable to save them.
Meanwhile, the tricycle driver sustained injuries from the collision. He is currently recovering while receiving treatment in the hospital.
Authorities did not immediately disclose the extent of his injuries but confirmed that he survived the incident.
Police continue to conduct a thorough investigation to determine all contributing factors. Officials are also facilitating discussions between the family of the victims and the tricycle driver as part of the ongoing process.
