Authorities carried out an entrapment operation in Barangay San Bartolome, where the suspect was seen resisting arrest and attempting to flee before being subdued and handcuffed.

According to investigators, the pair had originally agreed to meet inside a fast-food restaurant at a mall, but the suspect later changed the meeting place to an outdoor area where officers were already positioned.

Namataan din agad 'yung suspek,” says Police Lieutenant Colonel Michael John Villanueva, commander of the Novaliches Police Station.

Police said the 25-year-old victim first reported the incident on February 2, claiming she had already given the suspect money twice totaling around P20,000.

The man allegedly continued threatening her and demanded another P20,000, prompting authorities to launch the operation on February 9.

Investigators recovered the marked cash and the motorcycle used by the suspect. Police also confirmed the couple had separated in November after a three-month relationship.

Now detained at the Novaliches Police Station, the suspect denied the allegations.

He is facing complaints for robbery extortion, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority, and violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
