The fatal accident happened in Barangay Alangilanan and involved three individuals riding on a single motorcycle.

According to a report aired on GMA Regional TV’s "Balitanghali", the crash occurred when the motorcycle approached a truck that had been stationary along the highway. Initial police findings showed that the rider attempted to avoid an early warning device placed behind the parked truck.

However, the maneuver caused the rider to lose control of the motorcycle, sending it directly into the rear of the truck.

The impact proved fatal for two of the motorcycle’s occupants, who were declared dead at the scene.

The third passenger survived but sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. Medical personnel said the injured victim remains under observation as recovery continues.

Investigators revealed that all three riders were not wearing helmets at the time of the incident.

Police also said there were indications that the victims had been drinking before the crash, a factor that may have contributed to the loss of control and the severity of the collision.

The truck involved in the accident was reportedly parked along the national highway, prompting questions about road safety measures and proper warning placement.

Authorities are now working to determine whether adequate precautions were taken to alert passing motorists.

The truck driver is currently under police custody as investigators continue to gather details surrounding the incident. Police said they are still trying to obtain the driver’s statement to clarify the circumstances leading up to the crash.
