According to the Tanay Municipal Police Station, the suspect, alias “Jojo,” a resident of Barangay Kay-Buto, was taken into custody following a formal complaint from the sister of the victim. The victim was identified as alias “Joel,” 48, who lived in the same neighborhood.

The trouble reportedly began when Jojo’s son, known by the alias “Ulo,” approached his father to complain about a recent spat with Joel. This report apparently caused the father's temper to flare. Jojo decided to confront the neighbor on Macarulay Street, but the meeting quickly turned physical.

Investigation records suggest that as the two men faced off, Joel allegedly drew a sharp weapon and attempted to stab Jojo. However, Jojo was also reportedly armed with a blade and managed to strike back. Instead of acting as a mediator, the son, Ulo, allegedly joined the fray. Witnesses claim Ulo punched the victim and held him down to prevent him from fighting back while the stabbing took place.

While Jojo is now behind bars, the police are still searching for Ulo, who fled the scene following the crime. The Tanay police have classified the son as a key suspect for his role in the fatal encounter.
