The closure came after a concerned diner posted a video showing that a serving of fried chicken contained uninvited and highly unsanitary organisms.
The incident gained traction online when a customer shared footage of their meal, which appeared to be hosting small, active white residents, often a sign of severe contamination or advanced spoilage, inside the meat.
The video quickly reached the attention of the local government unit (LGU), prompting an immediate surprise inspection of the establishment located in the town center.

Upon arrival, health and sanitation officers were met with a series of alarming discoveries. The inspection team, led by a municipal meat control officer, found that the restaurant’s environment fell drastically short of basic hygiene requirements.
Reports indicated that the general surroundings were unkempt, waste was not properly disposed of, and the cooling equipment used to store raw ingredients was in a state of visible neglect.
According to the official report from the sanitation team, the establishment committed several major infractions regarding meat handling and sanitary guidelines.
The presence of foreign biological contaminants in ready-to-eat food is considered a critical violation of the Code on Sanitation of the Philippines.
"The store failed to meet the necessary standards for food preparation and storage," a local official noted during the operation.
As a result, the LGU issued an immediate closure order to prevent any further risk of foodborne illnesses to the community.
The restaurant will remain closed indefinitely while the management addresses the cited violations.
Authorities have stated that a follow-up inspection will be conducted once the owners claim to have rectified the sanitary issues.
Reopening will only be permitted if the establishment can prove it has implemented a rigorous food safety protocol.
In light of this incident, the Catarman LGU has expanded its inspection rounds to other nearby food stalls and "karinderias" to ensure that all local vendors are adhering to the law.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any similar concerns regarding the food they purchase.
