The situation intensified when a message arrived from another man, someone whom the friend was reportedly jealous of, proposing a meetup.

In a state of agitation, the group decided to confront the individual at a pre-arranged location.

Although the victim reportedly carried a bladed weapon for protection, witnesses stated that a female companion managed to take it away from him before they reached the meeting point.

Upon arriving at the designated area, a "rambulan" or a large-scale physical fight broke out between the group and the other party.

During the heat of the scuffle, the victim was chased and eventually sustained a critical stab wound to his chest.

Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, the young man was tragically declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.

Urdaneta Police Operations Officer PLt. Richard Matias confirmed that authorities recovered a piece of wood at the crime scene believed to have been used during the assault.
