The incident, which was captured in a now-viral video, has ignited discussions on road safety and the limits of emergency vehicle privileges during heavy traffic.
The victim, identified by some sources as "Princess," was simply crossing the road after purchasing breakfast when the accident occurred.
According to a dashboard camera video uploaded by a motorcycle rider, the victim’s view was obstructed by a stationary van.

As she stepped past the vehicle, she was hit by a barangay ambulance that was driving against the flow of traffic to bypass congestion.
The force of the impact was significant, throwing the victim onto the pavement and sending her sliding toward the motorcycle of the video uploader.
The ambulance, which belongs to Barangay Ampid Uno in San Mateo, Rizal, was reportedly transporting a different patient who had been involved in an earlier collision when this secondary accident took place.
Proving that every second counts in an emergency, the ambulance driver, Manuel Busto Jr., stopped immediately.
The crew on board, along with the vlogger and other bystanders, rushed to the woman’s aid.
She was promptly loaded into the same ambulance and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Busto later explained that he was shocked by the sudden impact on the left side of his vehicle.
He has since committed to covering the victim's medical expenses, stating that they did not abandon her and ensured all her hospital bills were settled.
While emergency vehicles are often granted leeway to counterflow during life-and-death situations, local officials are reviewing the driver's actions.
Barangay Captain Elmer Manahan stated that the driver would undergo a formal assessment to determine his fitness to continue operating the barangay’s emergency units.
Despite the harrowing experience, the victim has reportedly expressed that she has no immediate plans to file formal charges, as the driver and the barangay have taken full responsibility for her recovery.
In other news, a narcotics suspect, identified as alias "Tol," was neutralized by law enforcement on January 27, 2026, following a violent pursuit that crossed from Bacoor to Kawit. To avoid capture during a sting operation, the suspect reportedly overpowered officers and commandeered an unmarked police car, using it as a getaway vehicle. During the reckless escape attempt, the suspect struck multiple civilian vehicles—including a tricycle, an SUV, and two motorcycles—leaving several bystanders injured. The encounter reached a fatal conclusion near the Marulas exit of Cavitex when the cornered suspect allegedly opened fire on pursuing officers, forcing them to return lethal fire.
Still in other news, a resilient motorcycle owner in North Fairview, Quezon City, successfully tracked down a group of thieves who had allegedly stolen two of his helmets from his parked bike. Local surveillance cameras filmed the intense pursuit, showing the victim following a motorized sidecar (kolong-kolong) used by the fleeing suspects to navigate through traffic. Quezon City police responded to the commotion and apprehended three men, who are believed to be operatives of a local "Salisi Gang" specializing in petty theft. While the primary suspect admitted to the theft with plans to liquidate the gear for cash, his two accomplices claimed they were merely along for the ride and unaware of the crime.
