According to a report by Bernadette Reyes on “24 Oras Weekend,” the incident caused part of the bridge to light up as the motorcycle went up in flames following the collision.

The rider was trapped in his burning motorcycle and was unable to escape as the fire rapidly spread.

Initial findings showed that the motorcycle first struck a vehicle that had been parked on the bridge before the fire broke out.

The impact of the crash was strong enough to throw the rider’s passenger off the motorcycle. The passenger was immediately brought to a hospital for medical treatment.

Despite rescue efforts, the rider did not survive due to the intensity of the blaze. Authorities said the flames engulfed both the motorcycle and the rider, leaving little chance for immediate intervention at the scene.

The driver of the parked vehicle later surrendered to authorities and explained that the car had run out of fuel, forcing him to stop on the bridge.

He said he activated the hazard lights and used his cellphone flashlight to signal approaching motorists in an effort to prevent an accident.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether proper safety measures were followed and to establish any possible liability.

Officers are also looking into the circumstances that led to the motorcycle crashing into the stationary vehicle despite the warnings given.
