A man riding a motorcycle was killed after he was shot by a riding-in-tandem in Tondo, Manila. Police later arrested the gunman, who was wounded after being shot by a responding officer during a pursuit.
According to a report by EJ Gomez on GTV News Balitanghali, the shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. in Barangay 169, Gagalangin, Tondo. Police said the 32-year-old victim was riding his motorcycle when he was shot in the head, causing him to fall on the road.
A witness said the suspect even got off the motorcycle and fired again at the victim, despite him already lying on the ground. At that moment, a police officer on patrol arrived and immediately responded to the incident.
The officer caught up with the gunman, who was trying to return to the motorcycle to escape. During the chase, the suspect was shot and fell to the ground. His companion, who was driving the motorcycle, managed to flee the area.

Authorities arrested the gunman, who suffered gunshot wounds on his back and shoulder. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police recovered a caliber .40 firearm and several bullets at the crime scene.
Investigators later learned that the victim had previously been jailed for an illegal drug case in 2023 and was released in October 2025. The victim’s sibling said the killing could be linked to illegal dr*gs and added that the man had promised to change his life. He left behind two children.
Barangay 169 chairman Arnel Capalad said the victim was not a resident of the area and reportedly lived in Barangay 155, Raja Bago. He also noted that the arrested gunman was not known in their community.
Police are continuing their investigation and efforts to track down the escaped rider.

CCTV footage showed three men entering the shop, closing the roll-up door, and then shooting the entire family to death. Before fleeing, one of the suspects even took a bag and a cellphone belonging to the victims. According to a report by Gary De Leon of TV5 Frontline Pilipinas, the family had started receiving threats after they lent ₱1 million to a resident of their barangay, who allegedly used the money for a business.
