During that time, the girl reportedly continued swimming on her own and eventually drowned without being immediately noticed.

Resort staff and family members rushed to help once the child was found unconscious in the pool.

She was immediately brought to the Valladolid District Hospital for emergency treatment. However, attending medical personnel later declared her dead on arrival.

A local police officer said, “This incident serves as a painful reminder of how quickly accidents can happen around water.”

Authorities noted that no foul play is suspected and that the case is being treated as an accidental drowning.

Barangay officials expressed sympathy to the bereaved family and urged parents and guardians to maintain constant supervision of children, especially in swimming pools and resorts.

They also reminded resort operators to ensure safety measures are strictly followed, particularly during peak seasons and holidays when facilities are crowded.

As the community mourns the young life lost, officials hope the tragedy will raise awareness about water safety and help prevent similar incidents in the future.

In an earlier report by KAMI, the Bureau of Customs was reported to have intensified its probe into the importation of roughly 40 luxury vehicles allegedly linked to the family of Sarah Discaya. The scrutiny reportedly escalated after an interview showcasing the family’s expensive car collection circulated widely on social media. Officials said they are carefully reviewing import documents, shipping records, and the identities of listed consignees to determine if any customs regulations were breached. Interest in the issue has continued to grow, particularly as Discaya has also been associated with contractors handling flood control projects that are currently being examined by the Senate. Around the same time, news also broke about the death of former Department of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Catalina Cabral, marking another significant development at the national level.

In a separate topic that gained online traction, veteran journalist Korina Sanchez-Roxas drew attention after posting a photo from her recent visit to Disneyland. The picture showed her standing in front of a palace-themed attraction, which quickly went viral. Her caption, which opened with the line “My P10 Million Palace,” triggered varied reactions among netizens. While some saw it as a lighthearted reference to previous remarks made by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, others took it simply as a joke. The post sparked lively discussion, with many applauding her sense of humor and others sharing contrasting views on the caption.
