In an interview with GMA News, her fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, shared the chilling moment he heard Sherra’s voice again. Around 9:30 in the morning, De Juan’s mobile phone—which she had left at home on the day she disappeared—suddenly rang. When Mark answered, he could only hear someone saying “Hello” repeatedly. It appeared that Sherra could not hear him because the phone was damaged.
Not giving up, Mark called the number back. When Sherra finally heard his voice, she broke down. After confirming it was indeed his missing bride, Mark immediately coordinated with the police to fetch her.
Sherra explained that on the day she vanished, December 10, she did make it to the mall to buy her wedding shoes. However, she could not find the right pair, so she decided to move to another mall. It was during this time that she reportedly felt overwhelmed. She mentioned that a kind stranger helped her along the way—a man who reportedly put her at ease because he resembled her own father.

Sherra De Juan, a bookkeeper from North Fairview, was supposed to marry Mark on December 14. Her disappearance sparked nationwide concern after CCTV footage showed her boarding a bus without her phone or extra money. Earlier in the investigation, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) found “sensitive searches” on her laptop, suggesting she was under immense emotional and financial stress due to her father’s health and the upcoming wedding costs.
In a recent video clip shared by ABS-CBN News, Sherra was seen showing authorities the route she took during her long walk in the early morning hours. This was the first time she was seen by the public since the case blew up online. While the QCPD has technically closed the missing person case, they are still gathering more details. “Buhay po at may mga revelation siya pero hindi pa consistent eh,” QCPD Director Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio noted, referring to her initial statements.

Before Sherra was found, the case was filled with heartbreaking theories and pleas from her family. Her fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, previously released a deeply emotional prenup video as a way to reach out to her. He begged Sherra to just let them know she was safe, even for just a minute, as the family spent a tearful Christmas Day and his father-in-law's birthday waiting for a miracle.
As the investigation reached its peak, the police provided evidence suggesting that De Juan’s disappearance might have been voluntary. Digital forensic results from her personal devices showed that she was struggling with high levels of anxiety and pressure. Authorities found that she had been looking up ways to cope with her situation, which led investigators to believe she was hiding in the provinces to seek a temporary escape from her mounting problems.
