Sherra’s disappearance on December 10 gripped the nation, especially since it happened just four days before she was supposed to marry her fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes. She had left her home in North Fairview supposedly to buy wedding shoes at a nearby mall. However, she never returned, and the fact that she left her cellphone at home charging added to the mystery and the family’s growing anxiety.

During the investigation, the QCPD formed a special team to track her movements. CCTV footage showed her boarding a bus near a gasoline station along Commonwealth Avenue, but a lack of internal recordings on the bus slowed down the progress. Digital forensics conducted on her laptop, however, provided a glimpse into her state of mind. “Based on the digital forensic examination, it appears that Sherra has been experiencing personal dilemmas, facing emotional distress and financial problems due to her father's medical condition and her forthcoming wedding,” the QCPD earlier stated.

The case took a controversial turn when Mark Arjay Reyes was named a person of interest. While this is standard procedure for the last person to have contact with a missing individual, the police noted that a lack of full disclosure initially hampered their efforts. Reyes and Sherra’s father publicly defended their situation, claiming that financial distress was not an issue since insurance covered medical bills and wedding expenses were settled.

Sherra De Juan is a dedicated bookkeeper whose sudden disappearance was described by her family as completely out of character. For nearly three weeks, her loved ones and her fiancé appealed to the public for any leads, even offering a reward for her safe return. The discovery of Sherra in the Ilocos Region provides a massive sigh of relief for the family who spent Christmas in tears, hoping for her return.

As authorities finalize the process of bringing her home, the focus will now shift to her well-being and understanding the full circumstances of her travel to the North.

Before Sherra was found, her fiancé Mark Arjay Reyes shared a very emotional prenup video on social media, expressing his undying love and hope for her return. He pleaded with the public to stop the negative speculations and fake news, emphasizing that their relationship was stable and that his only priority was her safety. The video went viral as netizens joined the family in praying for a miracle before the year ended.

As the investigation reached its second week, the QCPD released findings suggesting that Sherra may have left her home voluntarily. The police cited "sensitive searches" found in her browsing history as evidence of the emotional weight she was carrying. While her family initially struggled to believe she would leave without her belongings, the police maintained that all evidence pointed to her being alive and hiding somewhere in the provinces.
