Upon examination, the victim was found to have sustained multiple wounds on the right side of his abdomen, as well as injuries on his neck and thigh.
People in the area believe the injuries were caused by a crocodile bite, given their size and severity.
The belief was further strengthened by recent reports of crocodile activity in nearby waters.
The victim was reportedly out collecting firewood, which he intended to sell, when the incident occurred.
Following the discovery, residents managed to capture a crocodile believed to be responsible for the attack.
While authorities have yet to officially confirm if the animal was indeed involved, the capture highlighted the growing danger posed by crocodiles in the area.
Local officials and law enforcement agencies have issued warnings to residents, urging them to exercise extreme caution when venturing near bodies of water.
Authorities pointed out that this was not an isolated case, noting that just weeks earlier, another person was injured after a similar crocodile attack in the same region.
The incident has raised renewed calls for increased monitoring and safety measures in coastal and mangrove areas.
Officials are now coordinating with wildlife authorities to assess the situation and prevent further attacks, while reminding the public to remain vigilant to avoid similar tragedies.
