In a report aired on GMA News “24 Oras” on Monday, footage showed the suspect calmly approaching the driver before suddenly pulling out a gun and firing at close range.

The victim was seated at the wheel when the attack happened, giving him little chance to react.

According to the jeepney conductor’s statement to the police, they were already plying their route when the suspect flagged them down during the early morning hours.

The man boarded the jeepney and sat beside the driver, acting like an ordinary passenger.

Moments later, the suspect even asked how much the fare was. Instead of reaching for payment, he allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the driver twice.

The conductor and other passengers were left in shock as the vehicle came to a stop following the shooting.

After the attack, the suspect immediately fled the scene using a motorcycle that had no plate number.

Authorities said this made it more difficult to quickly trace his identity and direction of escape.

Police have launched a thorough investigation to identify the gunman and uncover the motive behind the killing.

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage, gathering witness accounts, and checking possible leads linked to the victim’s route and recent activities.

In an earlier report by KAMI, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) was reported to be conducting a closer review of the importation of around 40 luxury vehicles that were allegedly linked to the family of Sarah Discaya. The investigation was sparked after a viral interview circulated online, during which the family’s collection of high-end cars was prominently featured. According to authorities, the BOC is now scrutinizing importation records, shipping documents, and the identities of the listed consignees to determine whether there were any irregularities or violations of customs regulations. The matter has drawn wider attention as Discaya has also been linked to contractors involved in flood control projects that are currently under scrutiny by the Senate, further fueling public interest in the issue. In a separate development, reports also confirmed the death of former Department of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Catalina Cabral, marking another significant update in ongoing public affairs.
