  • The couple and nine others face charges of malversation and violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act over a P96.5-million ghost project in Davao Occidental
  • Eight DPWH personnel from the same province also expressed their plan to surrender to the authorities

Contractor Sarah Discaya surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday morning. She went to the NBI main office in Pasay City around 10 a.m. after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that a warrant for her arrest would come out soon.

Discaya faces charges linked to questionable flood control projects worth millions.

Her family owns Alpha and Omega General Contractor & Development Corporation.

This company is one of the fifteen firms the President named for getting a big share of the country’s flood control contracts.

President Marcos said in a video message that authorities expect to arrest Discaya within the week.

Eight employees from the Department of Public Works and Highways in Davao Occidental also sent letters saying they plan to surrender and face their own cases.

Prior to this news, the Discaya couple offered to become state witnesses.

The Office of the Ombudsman rejected the request because of their deep involvement.

After that, they stopped talking to the Department of Justice. (248 words)

Sarah Discaya is a Filipina businesswoman, philanthropist, and political figure who serves as the Chief Financial Officer of St. Gerrard Construction and Development Corporation.

Known for her charitable work such as medical missions and welfare programs, she gained recognition for supporting healthcare, education, solo parents, and senior citizens.

In 2025, she ran for mayor of Pasig City with a platform focused on making it a smart city through improved healthcare, digital connectivity, and modern systems, but she lost to incumbent Mayor Vico Sotto.

Despite her defeat, she remains noted for her leadership, philanthropy, and advocacy for community empowerment.

In a previous report by KAMI, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) will investigate around 40 luxury cars linked to Sarah Discaya’s family. The move came after a viral interview where Discaya showed their collection of high-end cars. BOC will check the consignee of the vehicles to see if there were violations in their importation Discaya has also been connected to contractors of flood control projects now under Senate investigation.

Additionally, Korina Sanchez-Roxas recently posted on her Instagram account. There, she posed in front of a beautiful palace while she was in Disneyland. However, she also made fun of it in relation to the recent issue involving her. She wrote in the first part of her post, "My P10 Million Palace," which was somehow related to the allegations thrown against her by Mayor Vico Sotto.
