The victim, identified as 18-year-old Guy Aldrin Gonzales, remained comatose for nearly four days before passing away on December 5 due to a severe skull fracture.
The violence unfolded at dawn on December 1 and was fully recorded on CCTV. According to the victim’s partner, Charlyn Dizon, the incident began when Gonzales complained about a blinding motorcycle headlight.
She explains that the group reacted violently. Dizon says the men returned and threw bottles at Gonzales and other bystanders.

She recounts that her partner briefly retrieved a baseball bat from their home.
“Ang ginawa po ng asawa ko kumuha po siya ng baseball bat sa loob ng bahay, bali panakot niya lang po,” says Dizon.
CCTV footage showed the group retreating as Gonzales approached while swinging the bat.
The situation escalated when another suspect suddenly appeared on a motorcycle and rammed Gonzales from behind, knocking him to the ground.
One assailant then grabbed the bat and repeatedly struck the victim’s head and body. The group fled upon seeing Gonzales motionless. Neighbors rushed him to the hospital.
Dizon shares that he was still conscious during the rush to the emergency room.
“Nung tinakbo po namin siya sa ospital, gising pa po siya as in nakakatayo pa po,” she says.
The victim leaves behind Dizon and their seven-month-old child.
“Napakaresponsableng ama niya po sa anak ko,” she says. She laments that her child keeps calling for her father.
Authorities learned that the suspects were visitors attending a nearby birthday party.
Although the suspect who wielded the bat was arrested, he was later released after posting bail for frustrated h&micide.
In Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, two barangays are reeling from the loss of a councilor and an elderly resident who died after their motorcycles crashed head-on. Police reported that both men suffered critical head injuries, which proved fatal because neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time. Early assessments indicate that the collision occurred when the older motorist suddenly swerved across the road and ended up in the councilor’s path. The unexpected deaths of these respected figures from Barangays Bay-ang and Santiago have left surrounding communities in shock and deep sorrow.
Meanwhile, in Batangas, agents from the NBI’s Batangas field office have arrested a woman accused of producing fake digital payment receipts using AI tools. Investigators said the alleged scam allowed her to acquire more than P33,000 worth of food and alcoholic drinks from a restaurant without settling the bill. Authorities noted that she reportedly placed her large orders during peak hours to reduce the likelihood of immediate verification from the staff. She is currently detained in Batangas City and will face charges for estafa, along with several violations under the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
