According to a report from GTV News "Balitanghali," the suspect suddenly entered the establishment and grabbed the employee before threatening her with a bladed weapon.
Police said the man insisted that he only acted out of fear. He reportedly told authorities that someone was after him, which led him to use the woman as protection.
Responding officers immediately rushed to the scene and began negotiating with the suspect. An officer says they carefully approached him so the situation would not escalate. The authorities urged him to surrender without further trouble.

After several minutes of dialogue, the man eventually gave himself up and released the terrified employee. The police arrested him on the spot and brought him to the station for questioning.
However, authorities later confirmed that they were compelled to release him because the victim chose not to file any charges. A spokesperson explains that they had no legal grounds to keep him in custody once the complainant declined to pursue the case.
Police added that they plan to turn the man over to the social welfare department. Officials say he has nowhere to go after recently being released from jail. They also noted that he did not issue any statement about why he stormed into the shop or why he targeted the female staff.
Despite the alarming incident, investigators assured the public that follow-up assessments will be conducted to determine the man’s condition and ensure the safety of the community.
Here is a rewritten version with a fresh structure and smoother flow:
In an earlier report by KAMI, a family of three was brutally slain inside their small store in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. CCTV footage showed three unidentified men entering the shop, pulling down the roll-up door, and firing at the victims until they were lifeless. Before escaping, one of the attackers was caught on video taking a bag and a mobile phone belonging to the family. According to Gary De Leon of TV5’s Frontline Pilipinas, the victims had begun receiving threats after they lent P1 million to a fellow resident, who was said to have used the money for business purposes.
Meanwhile, another incident that went viral involved a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City who was stabbed several times by her husband. As reported by EJ Gomez on Unang Balita, the 38-year-old suspect carried out the attack inside the school’s faculty room. Although the campus had a security guard, authorities explained that the suspect was recognized by staff, allowing him easy access in and out of the premises. The husband later claimed he only went to the school to speak with his wife and fix their misunderstanding, but the conversation quickly escalated into a heated exchange that ended violently.
