Several pigs broke free and ran off after a jeepney caught fire in Magdiwang, Romblon.
A video taken by Jane Mutia Romero showed the pigs running in different directions as people tried to control the situation.
Police said the jeep owner was buying pigs for business when the incident happened.
Smoke reportedly came from the battery, and the jeep soon burst into flames. The fire spread slowly at first and reached the rear area where the pigs were kept.

Authorities acted fast and put out the flames.
They opened the back of the jeep so the pigs could escape.
One pig, however, was trapped inside and died. Two more pigs were hurt as they tried to get out.
No person was injured in the incident, but the jeep was badly damaged.
In the Philippines, there can be a legal case if a fire kills a pig. It depends on what caused the fire and if someone was at fault.
If the fire happened because of neglect — like faulty wiring, unsafe storage, or failure to follow safety rules — the owner or person in charge can face a complaint.
This may fall under negligence or damage to property. A pig counts as property under the law, so losing one due to someone’s fault can still lead to civil liability.
A civil case can be filed to ask for payment for the lost pig, vet costs for injured animals, or other damages. Criminal charges may apply only if the act was intentional or very reckless.
If the fire was accidental and no laws were broken, there is usually no criminal case. However, the affected party may still ask for compensation depending on the situation.

In a previous report by KAMI, a family of three was mercilessly shot and killed inside their store in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. Caught by CCTV, three men entered their store, closed the roll-up door, and shot the entire family to death. Before fleeing, one of the suspects even grabbed a bag and a mobile phone from the victim. In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.
In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
