Masantol Police also coordinated with other police stations in the area to help track down the suspects and determine the motive behind the attack.

In the Philippines, a killing incident is handled first by police responders who secure the scene and check the condition of the victims.

Officers collect evidence, take photos, review CCTV, and talk to witnesses to understand how the incident happened.

Investigators study leads, possible motives, and the identity of the suspects.

Once enough evidence is gathered, police identify and arrest the suspect and file a complaint with the prosecutor.

A prosecutor reviews the case to see if there is sufficient basis to file charges in court.

If the evidence is strong, the case is brought before a judge.

A full trial follows, where both sides present proof and witnesses. After hearing everything, the court decides if the accused is guilty.

If guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt, punishment is given based on the Revised Penal Code.

Penalties may include long-term imprisonment, reclusion perpetua, fines, and civil damages owed to the victim’s family.
